The Swedish Braille Authority is a governmental authority at MTM. It has the mission to favour and develop tactile reading and braille as the written language for visually impaired, including the use of tactile images. It sets rules and recommendations for braille in the Swedish language.
Members
The Authority members normally come from the following organizations:
- The Swedish Association of the Visually Handicapped (SRF)
- Swedish Association of Visually Impaired Youth
- The National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools (SPSM)
- The Language Council of Sweden
- The school of Innovation, design and engineering at Mälardalen University
- Certec, Lund University
- Lund University Cognitive Science
